What Will Be the Big Trend at IBS?

We begin our online coverage of the 2010 International Builders' Show today with an advance look at some of the window and door industry products to be featured at the upcoming event.  That got me thinking about the show, and wondering what it holds in store for us in January.

Every year, it seems one trend hits some sort of tipping point and takes center stage for the many window and door manufacturers exhibiting at the event. Last year, it was big doors. In 2008, it was green. In years past, one could also sense that vinyl, fiberglass doors and impact products had somehow come of age.

As I looked at some of the products to be featured in Las Vegas next month, I asked myself what might emerge as "the thing" in our current enviroment. I've included some general possibilities in our poll question for the week. I realize that not all are something new.  Not every IBS produces something completely fresh. Sometimes, you get a recurring theme.  Whatever you foresee, let me know. I'd like to hear your predictions, whether they're general or specific.
