Atrium Cos. Inc. has signed a new lease agreement for a 120,000 square foot manufacturing facility that will be used to extrude vinyl. Located in Greenville, Texas, the new plant is designed to meet the manufacturer's growing vinyl extrusion needs in support of its window and patio door manufacturing growth plans, officials state.

“We expect to begin operations in December 2010, and will initially employ 20 people at the new facility, with future expansion likely as production volume demands increase according to market growth expectations,” states Bob Burns, Atrium EVP and COO.

“Having a state of the art facility, centrally located in the United States, allows Atrium to increase the level of in-sourced vinyl extrusion availability at our manufacturing locations throughout the U.S. Once this facility is fully operational we will internally supply most of our vinyl extrusion needs,” adds Kevin P. O’Meara, chairman and CEO. “This will allow us to maximize our responsiveness to our customers’ needs and ensure we offer state of the art products as the market for energy sensitive windows and patio doors evolves.”

Atrium currently operates three vinyl extrusion facilities located throughout North America.
