Coppola Leading New Quanex Initiative
Quanex Building Products Corp. has named August "Gus" Coppola senior vice president. Previously president of Quanex's Truseal Technologies, Coppola is leading Project Nexus, a new initiative in the Quanex Engineered Products Group, which supplies window and door components and other products under the Homeshield, Mikron and Truseal brand names.
Project Nexus, a sales growth initiative launched by Quanex earlier this year, calls for the integration of the company's Engineered Products Group's sales, marketing and product development teams. While Mikron, Homeshield and Truseal have served their individual customer bases well and are expected to continue to do so, the combined resources of Project Nexus team will bring more product solutions to current customers while reaching out to new customers, company officials explain.
“Gus brings the essential experience, background and management philosophy necessary to champion this strategic initiative,” say David D. Petratis, Quanex chairman and CEO. “I believe Gus’ energy, years of experience in the industry and management skills suit our needs perfectly. Reporting to Gus will be all of EPG’s sales and marketing personnel. With Gus as our champion, I am confident that he and his new team are up to the task of driving profitable sales.”
Quanex has also promoted David Marlar to general manager of Truseal, where he assumes most of Coppola’s former responsibilities. Pete Donoghue has also been named VP sales for Quanex EPG. He is working with Coppola to further refine the structure of the EPG sales and marketing organization. With a team of more than 30 sales and marketing professionals, the Quanex Engineered Products Group will bring added sales and marketing punch to thel Homeshield, Mikron and Truseal brands, the company states.
