After 45 years of being headquartered in New York, Manhattan Door Corp. is relocating to Carlstadt, N.J. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new operation is scheduled for October 26.

“This strategic relocation allows us to work with a broader customer base while better serving the Tri-state area,” says Michael Sklar, president. “Our team remains dedicated to our family’s decades-long traditions of a strong work ethic, forward thinking and ‘customer for life’ philosophy.”

Manhattan Door, a third-generation family-owned business, was established as a paint and hardware store in Middle Village, N.Y., in the 1930s by Sklar’s grandfather, Sam. The company now manufactures custom wood doors, emphasizing a full service approach including take-off analysis, machining for hardware per specification constructions, custom finishing, professional consulting and a quick-ship “Door-in-24” delivery program.

“Even during an unpredictable economy and slow recovery, our new centralized location is already providing us with great opportunities for growth,” says Sklar.
