Most operations at Marshfield DoorSystems' plant have resumed following the July 11 explosion, officials report. The door manufacturer suspended operations at the facility on Monday as the company worked with police and fire officials, as well as state inspectors and the company insurance carrier, to gather details regarding the cause of the explosion and the extent of the damage to the facility, officials report.

While the investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing, the Marshfield, Wis.-facility has resumed all operations, with the exception of the mineral core operations, which are located at the site of the explosion, it is reported. All employees have returned to work.

“We are grateful to report no loss of life or significant injuries sustained by any Marshfield DoorSystems employees as a result of the explosion that occurred early Monday morning,” says spokesperson JoAnne Firestone. “We are fortunate to be able to continue operations while we work with local officials on the investigation.”

MDS was recently purchased by Masonite Inc. Masonite is fully apprised of the situation and has not advised MDS of any changes to their planned acquisition, it is noted.
