Pella Adding Workers at Kentucky Plant
Due to strong demand for its Pella 350 Series vinyl products, Pella Corp. plans to add 75 workers at its Murray, Ky., plant by June of this year. Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear joined community leaders and Pella officials today to announce the expansion of operations at the facility, which focuses on vinyl and fiberglass products.
“As demand for energy-efficient vinyl windows and patio doors produced in Murray grows, we look forward to expanding our workforce to manufacture energy-efficient vinyl products to meet the needs of homes across North America,” said Doug Dieleman, plant manager.
“The growth of our existing industries is vital to moving Kentucky’s economy forward,” said Gov. Beshear. “The fact that Pella is further enhancing its Kentucky footprint, adding 75 new jobs, demonstrates that we have a positive business climate, excellent workforce and great partnerships between state and local government and the private sector that allows companies like Pella to succeed.”
“Pella, like many of our other companies, has managed to do well even in a very bad economy,” added Murray Mayor Bill Wells. “We are delighted to see that they are hiring people and we feel comfortable that as the economy begins to rebound there will be many more job opportunities for our hard working families.”
The 350 Series was launched in August 2010 with the introduction of a vinyl patio door. Windows in the new line have yet to be rolled out by the manufacturer.
