RavenBrick to Build Production Facility
Denver-based RavenBrick is planning to build a high-speed automated production line for its RavenWindow thermochromic technology. When complete, the line will produce 5 million square feet of the dynamic solar control glazing product annually, the supplier reports.
The company has signed a letter of intent with Saridea Engineering, also based in Denver, to build the facility. It is scheduled for completion in mid-2012. Founded in 2006, RavenBrick plans to ramp up hiring to where they have 200-plus employees, up from 12 employees, by 2015, officials state.
"RavenBrick has a dynamic product offering that can change the way people view their windows and glass and we needed an operation worthy of that, so we are confident that Saridea will build a world class manufacturing line," states Alex Burney, RavenBrick CEO. "In addition, the positive effect on Denver and the ability to keep great engineering jobs in town was an absolute bonus. This truly is an exciting time."
“My partner Okan Saribal and I are proud and excited to be working with the RavenBrick team on the RavenWindow production line," says Abhishek Reddy, co-owner of Saridea Engineering. "RavenBrick’s approach to the development of smart, economical, energy saving technologies is admirable. This is a significant project for our company and it means we will have to add jobs. What could be better than working with great people to do work we are passionate about, all while making a positive economic impact to the Front Range community.”
RavenBrick recently received a $275,000 loan from the City and County of Denver for job creation, in addition to a $700,000-plus loan from the Governor’s Energy Office for entrepreneurship and job creation. The company has raised $6 million in angel capital and is currently raising a venture capital round of another $6 million, officials report.
