Schlage Offers Installer App
Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, manufacturer of Schlage electronic hardware, is now offering a smartphone app designed to support customers, integrators, dealers and installers at the jobsite. The app provides access to Schlage “how-to” videos from YouTube, installation and user guides, and datasheets for the company's AD-Series and CO-Series locking systems.
“Having these apps available on their iPhone, iPad or Android will help [customers] work more flexibly, independently and efficiently,” explains Raj Venkat, vice president of marketing for Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies. “Instead of trying to find the right person to call or becoming frustrated with searching, users of these apps can get the information they need on the Schlage AD-Series and CO-Series locking systems directly from their smartphones.”
With the app, users can then download the information needed, whether how to change the lock handing, upgrade a standalone, offline AD-Series locking system into a wireless networked lock or how to migrate a credential reader from proximity to a smart card. Users can also call the company's Customer Care Center directly from the app, it is noted.
Only just announced to its channel partners, the app is already averaging more than 25 downloads a day, the hardware supplier reports.
