Vinylmax Investing for More Growth
Propelled forward with a line of tax credit eligible vinyl and wood replacement window products, Vinylmax Windows reports it enjoyed strong growth in 2009, adding more than 100 new jobs at its plant in Hamilton, Ohio. Looking forward, the company expects to add another 150 workers in 2010.
Laura Doerger-Roberts, sales and marketing manager for the company, reports it recently made some significant equipment acquisitions to enhance flexibility and add capacity for 2010. Major growth is expected across all replacement window lines, with an emphasis on its high-end lines. Vinylmax's Sherwood custom wood windows and patio doors and the new Glendale Collection of premium vinyl windows both combine beauty and new technology in window design, she notes. "These products will offer new opportunities to Vinylmax distributors and their professional dealers."
For 2010, VinylMax has also invested in enhanced technology. "A new GPS enhanced shipping system allows for better communication with customers," Doerger-Roberts states. Further development of Window Magic, Vinylmax’s custom software system developed by Automated Manufacturing Solutions, is bringing other technological advantages, including an Internet-based order management system, allowing for downstream quoting by customers and instant access to order information.
A new inventory management module allows Vinylmax to work with its partner vendors as well. The company is now actively using profile supplier Veka Inc.’s auto-replenishment system, she notes as an example.
