Marvin Pivots to Address Needs During COVID-19

Marvin is making a specialized ventilator box for use in ICUs and surgery, reports the Star Tribune. It worked with the University of Minnesota to develop it and Polaris, which has a nearby plant, is also helping with bending the polycarbonate plastic.

Marvin and Polaris plan to make and donate dozens of these boxes to the University. “At the beginning of the year, if you had asked me if we were going to be making medical devices, most people would have looked at us like we were crazy,” said Paul Marvin, the company’s CEO. “But now, we are finding a way to do what needs to be done.”

Marvin also teamed with Lake of the Woods Brewing Co. to make 1,200 bottles of hand sanitizer and, in partnership with a local high school robotics team, made face shields for a local hospital. Marvin also converted its visitors center to a drive-through COVID-19 testing site.
