General Information: Founded in 1979, Comfort Window provides windows, doors and other home improvement products throughout Upstate New York. Started as a dealer/installer serving the Syracuse market, Comfort Window formed Galaxy Manufacturing Co. in 1983 to manufacture its own products. It expanded out of the Syracuse area with a Rochester location, adding doors, siding and sunrooms at the same time. In 1994, it moved to a larger Syracuse location and also opened a third branch in Albany. In 2003, Comfort became a fully accredited Building Performance Institute organization and insulation and home energy audits were integrated into the product line. In 2008 and 2009, the company added basement remodeling, and opened a new showroom in Buffalo. Comfort Window ranked 18th on the Exterior Contractor 2011 list of the 200 largest exterior contracting firms in the U.S., with reported sales of nearly $24 million.
