General Information: Founded in 1980, PGT was a pioneer in the development of impact-resistant windows and doors, growing in prominence after Hurricane Andrew devastated South Florida in 1992. The company now offers both the WinGuard and PremierVue line of impact-resistant products, as well as Spectraguard and PGT aluminum and vinyl windows. Its line also includes architectural systems and Eze-Breeze sliding panel systems for patio and porch enclosures. The company operates out of a 485,000-square-foot manufacturing and headquarters facility in Florida. It closed a North Carolina plant in 2010.
