Window&Door Helps Companies Get Qualified
Let manufacturers, distributors and dealers know they have 30/30 options
Window & Door has launched a new program designed to help manufacturers and suppliers get the word out that they offer products that can help customers meet new market demand created by tax credit provisions in the stimulus bill. The Get Qualified! program includes a special section of WindowandDoor.com, as well as two print advertising options.
The special online advertising section goes live today. It targets dealers and distributors looking for new window and door product lines that meet the 30/30 requirements that allow homeowners to claim a tax credit for energy efficient improvements, as well as new Energy Star criteria set to go in effect in 2010.
"While not everyone agrees the 30/30 numbers are appropriate, there's little doubt the tax credits included in the stimulus package are impacting the market and presenting new opportunities," says John Swanson, editor/associate publisher of Window & Door. "As a result, replacement dealers are looking for new window and door lines. Even many who carry qualifying product already are looking, as they now see a need for not just one high-performance product line, but two or three, in order to give homeowners choices."
The Get Qualified! section also includes components that window and door manufacturers and pre-hangers can incorporate into their lines to meet these new criteria. "The tax credit requirements, as well as pending changes in Energy Star 2010 criteria and even more stringent criteria looming on the horizon, will push many manufacturers to consider changes to their products," Swanson says. "We know many suppliers are introducing and developing new products to help manufacturers meet these new standards. This section will help suppliers communicate the new options available."
