Deceuninck North America welcomed students from local high schools to its Monroe production facility in celebration of Manufacturing Day and Manufacturing Month, a nationwide initiative designed to inspire the next generation of manufacturing professionals. The October event provided hands-on learning experiences and direct exposure to the wide range of career opportunities available within the industry.
What the visit entailed
Students in grades 9-12 toured multiple departments, engaged with Deceuninck team members and leaders, and learned about the company’s role in PVC window and door profile manufacturing.
During the visit, students toured several areas of the facility, including the testing and materials labs, tooling, CNC department, extrusion floor and lamination operations. Deceuninck team members shared their personal career paths, day-to-day responsibilities and the skills needed to thrive in the field.
Students also took part in demonstrations and hands-on activities, giving them a practical understanding of how high-performance building products are made and the level of technical skill, collaboration, and problem-solving that goes into the work.
