International Builders' Show Features Unique Window, Door and Glass Products and Innovations
The National Association of Home Builders' International Builders' Show took place from Feb. 17-19, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. The show welcomed a variety of exhibitors across the building and construction market, including multiple window, door and fenestration manufacturers and suppliers who showed off their latest products and innovations.
Key takeaways
- Homeowners continue to want more glass; meaning larger pieces of glass as well as products that feature more glass and less frames.
- Companies are always looking for ways to make products more energy efficient to increase cost-savings for the consumer.
- While the color black is still king when it comes to color choices, some companies are finding that customers increasingly want more greens and blues in the home, as well as customization options.
- When it comes to doorglass, customers want light, but also privacy. Textured and decorative glass options are helping meet that.
- Automation and overall ease of use increasingly prevalent in this market.
- In the Florida market particularly, where IBS took place this year, customers need products HVHZ certified. Products must be able to handle extreme weather.
Multislide doors
Euro-Wall debuted its new product line at IBS. The Horizon product line is launching with the Horizon MultiSlide, which offers more glass and less frame for better views. Euro-Wall's CEO Toby Bostwick says that continues to be a trend among homeowners. Later this year, Euro-Wall will also add a pivot door to the Horizon line. In the next few months, the company will also offer a thermally broken system for the sliding door.
Also in the multislide market, Quaker Windows & Doors is launching its new City Line product line in the second quarter of 2026. However, it had a sneak peek at IBS with the City Line multislide door, which comes in three panels and offers high thermal efficiency. Quaker is also launching the Edge Line product series in 2027, but had the Edge Line four-panel multislide door available at IBS to provide a preview to attendees. This door features an automated system through a partnership with Summit. Homeowners can download an app to their phone to control the door, and can even put an RFID chip on their pets collars, so pets can come and go outside.
Novatech's sliding doors, Loft XL and Studio, were also on display. Loft XL comes 10-16 feet tall and can be installed as high as 72 floors high. Studio is a smaller option more catered towards apartments and small homes.
Doorglass
Doorglass was a hot product at this year's IBS. Novatech was on the show floor with its unique Black Infinite black doorglass, which despite what people may think, is not completely opaque. Novatech also had its Lotus design, which had an artistic and textured design to appeal to a female consumer base, which not many companies in the industry are offering.
ODL had three new decorative doorglass designs and two new privacy options at the show. ODL officials say its customers are increasingly asking for a combination that allows plenty of light to enter the home, while also preserving privacy. "Consumer research shows simplicity and personal style are leading design choices right now," says and ODL official at the show.
ODL also has some partnerships coming down the pipeline. The company is partnering with AeroShield in 2027 to include its transparent aerogel in its products to offer better energy efficiency and U-factor ratings. ODL is also partnering with Cardinal in 2027 to include its CLiC switchable transparent glass in its product offerings. Officials say CLiC is a hardwired product, so homeowners will not need to worry about replacing batteries and can integrate it right into their smartphones.
Entry and interior doors
Therma-Tru is showcased its Veris Pivot Door and its new Shaker door, among other products. The company’s booth was split into three vignettes: performance, protection and preservation, which are three main goals of their product offerings to consumers. Therma-Tru officials stressed the benefits of fiberglass doors, as it provides energy efficiency, high insulation value and won't warp or decay over time.
Larson Manufacturing also showed its Easy Vent Door, which has an interchangeable screen and glass option for easy changing through the seasons. This door also features magnets at the top to help solve the issue of screen doors not closing tightly.
Masonite, now owned by Owens Corning, had multiple entry and interior doors on display at the show. A Masonite officials says homeowners wants customizability when it comes to the color of doors, and they also want to coordinate the color of their interior and exterior doors. Homeowners are also increasingly looking at shades of blues and greens for their doors.
Continental was also at IBS displaying its laminate options for windows. Marco Patermann with Continental says laminates allow homeowners to achieve the look of natural wood, without the warping and decay that can come with actual natural wood. Homeowners also like to carry the same finish throughout the home, which is why Continental offers laminate options for not only windows, but also decking and siding for a cohesive look.
Continental's most popular sellers are its true black option and bronze, which homeowners tend to choose when black feels too dark as bronze is a slightly warmer option. Patermann says there is a trend towards black grain, which offers the timelessness of black and the texture of woodgrain.
Hardware and software
At the show, Kwikset is exhibited its Caerus door handle, which doesn’t have a traditional thumb piece. This allows greater accessibility for children, when your arms are full of bags, and other instances. Kwikset is also showing off its new gunmetal finish option and LED lever. Kwikset officials say that gunmetal has been an increasingly popular finish option among consumers. The LED lever offers an automatic light, which is ideal for hallways and bathrooms and homes with children or the elderly.
Builders' FirstSource was on the show floor giving live demonstrations of its Paradigm Vendo software. This software is an in-home digital measurement tool that maps the dimensions of all windows and doors in the home and then creates a quote for the home builder or remodeler.
