Marvin Merges Cortland, N.Y.-based Operations with Newly Acquired Enfield, Conn. Facility

Local news entity, WXHC News reported that Marvin plans to close its Cortland, N.Y.-based distribution plant at the end of December. Marvin confirmed the news to Window + Door, stating, “as of December 31, 2019, Marvin’s Cortland, N.Y. facility will no longer operate as a distribution center.”

Marvin recently acquired A.W. Hastings & Co., a distributor based in Enfield, Conn., and will merge Cortland, N.Y.-based operations with the Enfield facility to streamline operations in this region, the company explains.

This decision was recently made after careful consideration of many factors, the company said in a statement. “About half of the employees from the Cortland facility will continue to work for Marvin, and the company is assisting other employees with finding new job opportunities,” Marvin officials report. “The company is still evaluating options for the Cortland building and will share an update with the community at a future time.”
