Milgard Windows & Doors’ Patrick Heninger, who joined the company in 1999, has been promoted to plant manager at the company’s Simi Valley facility.
Heninger joined the company as a temporary worker, and he quickly became a permanent employee. Since then, he has been promoted numerous times. In his most recent role as plant manager, he manages nearly 400 team members.
Heninger said he enjoys meeting new employees on their first day. He has a routine of welcoming them, explaining the importance of safety, and telling them about his own career path at Milgard. Heninger began as a file clerk before moving to screen expediter. From there, he worked in purchasing and was a senior buyer before advancing to supervisor. Heninger also earned a bachelor’s degree in business development at the University of Phoenix while continuing his work at Milgard.
“I tried to do the best I could no matter what I was doing,” Heninger said. “And the opportunities came to me.”
