The Mickey is designed to improve sealing capabilities by extending the surface area of contact. As its ears are compressed, they splay outward to increase the sealing surface area of contact. In its uncompressed state, the ears are close to the side width of the bulb to ensure the seal doesn’t interfere with the sill dam leg or other structures.
