NFRC Looks to Fill Seat on ANS Committee Overseeing Fenestration Issues

The National Fenestration Rating Council is opening an additional general interest user position on its American National Standards Committee.

As an American National Standards Institute Accredited Standards Developer, NFRC’s ANS Committee oversees any changes to its energy-rating programs for fenestration products and ensures these revisions follow the ANSI consensus process.

The ANS Committee members represent a range of stakeholders including manufacturers, consumers, government agencies and higher education institutions, among others. The current opening on this standing committee is for someone in the general interest user category, which includes institutions of higher learning and research, federal, state or local government and energy or building code offices, and other standards developers involved in energy efficiency or conservation.

Candidates interested in joining the ANS Committee must have technical knowledge of NFRC and its documents and be available for up to five hours per year for virtual committee meetings. Additionally, committee members are required to actively participate in the committee’s activities including attending NFRC meetings, voting on measures presented to the committee, and performing other duties as requested by NFRC’s Board of Directors.

Applications to join the committee must be submitted to Jen Padgett, programs administrator, by Wednesday, March 31.
