Description
Milgard Windows and Doors, part of the Miter Brands portfolio, was the window and door brand of choice for the 2025 Northwest Idea House. In partnership with Zetterberg Custom Homes, South Sound magazine’s Idea House brought together the design leadership of Greg Zetterberg and the construction expertise of Jeff Zetterberg. Located in Gig Harbor, Washington, the 5,428-square-foot project highlights contemporary Northwest architecture, emphasizing sunlight and modern design.
Oversized picture windows in the living areas bring abundant light throughout the interior of the home. The sliding patio doors connect the home’s main living space to its three distinct outdoor areas: an entertainment patio with an outdoor kitchen, a patio overlooking a sports court and a lower-level pool and spa.
Performance was also a key driver in product selection. The homeowners and Zetterberg Builders prioritized energy efficiency, structural integrity and long-term durability appropriate for Northwest conditions. The V400 Tuscany Series offers energy-efficient glass and enhanced insulation for cold climates, while AX650 doors deliver structural strength and resist harsh weather, balancing large spans of glass with reliable thermal performance and weather resistance.
