Builders FirstSource Charity Event Raises $1.6 Million for Blood Cancer United
Builders FirstSource announced that its 2026 charity event raised approximately $1.6 million for Blood Cancer United. This marks the 20th year of the Builders FirstSource partnership with Blood Cancer United, which has helped raise more than $19 million for critical research, patient support, and advocacy programs dedicated to advancing treatments and cures for blood cancers over those two decades.
Held Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Irving, Texas, the event featured a keynote speech by Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary, who shared anecdotes from his childhood in Houston, Texas, and his career as an NFL player and coach. Attendees also heard the story of four-year-old cancer patient “Mighty Mabel” Manthey, as told by her mother, Sarah.
Following Sarah’s message, Builders FirstSource CEO Peter Jackson and Chief Operating Officer-Designate Mike Hiller presented Blood Cancer United with a check for $250,000 on behalf of the Builders FirstSource Foundation, a private charitable foundation introduced earlier this year.
“At Builders FirstSource, our Purpose is to build a better future for those we serve,” says Jackson. “We are grateful to our supplier partners, customers and team members whose generosity brings that purpose to life through their ongoing support of Blood Cancer United. For 20 years, they have helped advance the fight against blood cancers, and we are proud of the impact we have made together.”
