Chelsea Building Products Makes Three Promotions

Chelsea Building Products announced the promotion of three long-term employees: Michael Gombos, Stephen McClean and Brandon Walkowski.

Gombos' new role

Gombos has been promoted to Senior Plant Engineer. He started at Chelsea Building Products in 2012 and has held a variety of positions within the organization, including Maintenance Supervisor, Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer and most recently Plant Engineer. Throughout Gombos’ time at Chelsea Building Products, he conducted on-the-floor troubleshooting throughout the plant regarding technical processes and equipment.

Between 2018-2019, Gombos worked with Mark Ammer, Vice President of Chelsea Building Products South, to start up the Greenville, Texas plant. This involved renovations, locating equipment, finding local contractors and partnering with them to install equipment, both electrical and mechanical, as well as upgrading the water system.

In his new role, Gombos will be the technical lead for Chelsea Building Products as a whole, including all locations.

McClean's new role

McClean has been promoted to Senior Plant Manager. He started at Chelsea Building Products in 2008 and held a variety of positions within the organization. Initially, McClean was first hired as a CNC Programmer. From there, he moved to Tool and Development Group Leader, to Supervisor, then most recently Tooling Manager. In his new role, McClean will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operation in Oakmont.

McClean started his career in the building products industry in 1999 through an internship and never left the building products industry. He stayed with the company he interned with until moving to Chelsea Building Products in 2008 where he’s been ever since.

“I really have a high regard for this company. They truly care about their employees. The relationships that I have been building with the people here at Chelsea has been a great experience,” says McClean.

Walkowski's new role

Walkowski has been promoted to Director of Human Resources. He started at Chelsea Building Products in 2000 and has held a variety of positions within the Human Resources department. Initially hired as a Human Resources Generalist, Walkowski rose to Human Resources Manager, Senior Human Resources Manager and now Director of Human Resources. In these roles, he oversaw all aspects of human resources including safety for the manufacturing facility, and, for a period, environmental regulations and compliance as well. In his new role, he will continue to oversee the human resources function at Chelsea Building Products, including aspects of safety, legal, payroll, employee relations, and benefits.

Walkowski started his career in human resources at a recruiting firm, and was recruited for Chelsea Building Products. Walkowski was eventually hired and began his long-term career with Chelsea Building Products.
