Clopay Relaunches Architect Resource

decorative

Clopay Corporation has reintroduced ArchitectDoorHelp.com, its online resource for architects and design professionals, with a new layout and navigation. The updated platform simplifies specification of Clopay, Cornell, and Cookson brand doors with a product selection tool, an on-demand custom AutoCad drawing generator for rolling doors, and supporting code and listing documentation—all with no account or login necessary.

“Our decision to update the site was driven by the changing requirements of our architectural community and directly influenced by their feedback,” says Paul Smith, Clopay Corporation director of architectural promotion. “By investing in this online resource, Clopay continues to earn its position as a trusted partner of architects and the greater design community.”

Resource details

The ArchitectDoorHelp.com platform helps architects discover, customize, and specify Clopay Corporation’s entire product portfolio, including products under its Clopay, Cornell and Cookson brands. Visitors to the site can choose from four starting points:

  • Product Selector Tool: Presents a series of user-friendly prompts such as building type (e.g., warehouse, retail, healthcare, etc.), insulated or non-insulated, and fire and smoke rating requirements to generate a list of recommended products that meet the application’s needs.

  • Drawing Generator Tool: Creates on-demand AutoCad drawings that show exact clearances for the door dimensions specified, along with mounting and wall details. The user selects a door type (e.g., rolling door, fire rated door, security grille, etc.), inputs the opening width and height, and provides details such as curtain configuration, guide mounts, wall construction, and type of operation to generate the drawing.

  • Contact Your Local Rep: Connects architects to the closest Clopay representative with an easy drop-down menu organized by state.

  • Self-Service Tools: Provides a variety of additional resources that support the door selection and specification process, including: the Drawing Generator Tool, Codes & Listings, BIM Objects, Download Library, Contact Us, Online CEUs, and Commercial and Residential Windcode Calculators. Online CEUs, for example, links directly to ClopayED, Clopay Corporation’s online learning platform that offers continuing education credits (CEUs) for architects that can be converted into credits from the American Institute of Architects.

As an added benefit, ArchitectDoorHelp.com allows architects to download and modify product specifications without requiring users to create an account, provide contact information, or log in.

What people are saying

“As the market trends toward increasingly unique designs, the site serves as a powerful, easy-to-use tool that lets architects explore and visualize different materials, finishes, and configurations and access all of the necessary documentation in one place,” says Smith.

“Our relationship with the architectural community has been vital to developing tools like these that not only ensure technical accuracy in specifying but also connect creativity and design with products that fulfill an aesthetic vision.”
