The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance launched an online video series documenting the association's in-person Insulating Glass Fabricators Workshop. This series has been under development throughout 2021 and offers a condensed version of the workshop in ten 20- to 30-minute segments. It is now available for purchase in the FGIA Online Store for the non-member price of $500 and member price of $250.

"This video series is an excellent option for those who are unable to travel to our IG Fabricators In-Person Workshop held each November in Plano, Texas," says Janice Yglesias, FGIA executive director. "Now, individuals or entire teams can learn the basics of glass safety responsibilities, insulating glass design, forensic testing and more from their comfort of their homes or offices."

Since its launch in 2016, the IG Fabricators Workshop has hosted more than 300 practitioners of the insulating glass industry. The in-person workshop features classroom education along with experience to discover best practices for cleaning, cutting and handling glass, desiccants, sealants, gas fill, frost point and more. The video series covers the following 10 segments:

  1. Glass Safety Responsibilities
  2. IG Design
  3. Glass Cutting and Washing
  4. Cavity Gas Fill
  5. IG Desiccant Fundamentals
  6. Volatile Fog
  7. Spacer Fabrication Considerations
  8. Frost Point Testing
  9. Sealants
  10. Forensic Analysis of IG Units

The in-person workshop will be held Nov. 3-5 in Plano, Texas.
