Gilkey Windows Responds to Coronavirus

Mike Gilkey, president of Gilkey Windows, issued the following statement on its website regarding COVID-19:

To All Our Good Friends and Family,

At this time when the news is dominated by coronavirus, I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that we are vigilantly implementing enhanced protocols to ensure your safety.

We are closely monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control regarding the spread of the virus. Our focus is to ensure we meet customer needs while doing our part to keep you, our employees, and our communities safe. This has been at the center of our conversations every step of the way. With that in mind, we have made several moves in our business in response to the threat of the coronavirus.

Here’s what we’re doing:

  • We enhanced the techniques used to clean our vehicles and sample material after each visit. Specifically, we are paying special attention to customer touch points such as frames, windows, any other sample material, and writing instruments.
  • We also have full time dedicated staff cleaning our facilities frequently with recommended sanitizing products. We’ve always taken great pride in our clean and well-run factories, and we know this is more important than ever right now.
  • In addition, we are taking steps to ensure the welfare of our employees. This includes instructing employees who feel ill to stay home and consult their healthcare providers. We are also urging all employees to be vigilant about frequent hand washing.
  • Our Mission: Despite the threat posed by coronavirus, your Gilkey team remains committed to serving you and your families. Our factory remains open to serve you. You are our friends, part of our family, and together we will get through this situation.

Please keep in mind that we cannot do this alone and we need you to do your part. Please don’t schedule an appointment if you are feeling sick (you must be fever-free or symptom-free for 24 hours un-medicated) and make sure to wash your hands regularly and follow all CDC guidelines to protect yourselves and others.

We will continue to work hard to deliver on this commitment in the days ahead.

Thank you for being a loyal member of the Gilkey Family.
