Industry Rallies Around Long-Time Deceuninck Leader

Jon Hauberg, director of product research & development at Deceuninck and a 35-year veteran of the company, is recovering from a severe traumatic brain injury sustained in a fall in October.

The accident came just a week after Hauberg completed a 326-mile bike ride across Ohio, from Cleveland to Cincinnati — a feat friends say reflected his lifelong drive and love of the outdoors.

Since the fall, Hauberg has undergone emergency brain surgery, endured a serious infection requiring additional surgery, and completed months of intensive rehabilitation. He now uses a wheelchair and requires extensive daily assistance. Compounding the family's hardship, his wife Deb was diagnosed with breast cancer during his recovery and has continued caring for him while undergoing her own treatment.

Despite the setbacks, family members say Hauberg has retained his trademark humor and remains an avid follower of Cincinnati sports.

Colleagues, friends, and community members have launched a fundraising effort to help offset the family's mounting medical and caregiving expenses. Organizers say any contribution, however small, helps support the Haubergs through recovery.
