Kwikset announced the launch of Capetown, a new arched trim available with select Kwikset levers, knobs and deadbolts.
The Capetown arch trim is available with the Sedona lever and Sora knob, giving homeowners matching options for interior doors throughout the home. A matching Capetown 258 deadbolt extends the design to exterior entrances, so the same hardware style can be used from the front door to bedrooms, bathrooms, closets and shared living spaces.
Capetown has an arched shape and larger trim size. The design is meant to suit a range of architectural and interior styles, including traditional and historic homes such as neoclassical, colonial, traditional farmhouse and Mediterranean styles.

The larger trim size is intended to cover paint marks and surface imperfections that may remain after previous door hardware is removed. For exterior-facing doors, the Capetown 258 deadbolt has a low-profile design meant to fit closely against the door while providing standard deadbolt security. The Capetown deadbolt and keyed entry knobs and levers include Kwikset's SmartKey Security feature, which is designed to resist certain break-in techniques and lets homeowners re-key the lock themselves.
Capetown products are designed for installation without professional help and can reportedly be installed in a few minutes using only a screwdriver. Installation hardware and instructions are included. The collection fits standard-size doors 1 3/8 to 1 3/4 inches thick, and all functions except the dummy function have an adjustable latch that accommodates 2 3/8- or 2 3/4-inch backsets.
Customers can choose from Satin Nickel, Satin Brass and Matte Black finishes. The Capetown 258 deadbolt, and Sedona and Sora entry, passage and privacy functions are Grade AAA certified by the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association for security, durability and finish. All products come with a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty.
The Capetown trim collection will be available at The Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon and other retailers, with prices starting at $40.99.
