Miter Brands Plant Manager Appointed to Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association Board
Miter Brands announced that Chris Curwood, plant manager for Miter Brands' Fort Myers facility, was recently appointed to the Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association (SRMA) board.
About this appointment
Curwood will serve on the 15-member board for a two-year term. During his time with the association, he will be tasked with advocating for the interests and growth of local manufacturers by sharing industry insights and best practices; supporting workforce development initiatives to attract, train, and retain skilled talent in the region; and promoting collaboration between manufacturers, educational institutions, and community partners, among other tasks.
The SRMA provides manufacturers with the tools they need to increase productivity and growth through peer-to-peer connections and knowledge sharing, matching needs with resource experts, building talent pipelines by connecting them with educators and students, and providing a collective, unified voice through advocacy.
“Joining the SRMA board provides a valuable opportunity for me to become better acquainted with the Fort Myers manufacturing landscape,” says Curwood. “I’m looking forward to supporting efforts that ensure Florida’s manufacturing industry has a strong voice in government, particularly around grants, training, certifications, and other important initiatives.”
Curwood has been with PGT Custom Windows and Doors, part of the Miter Brands portfolio, since 2001. Over his 25-year tenure, he has advanced through many roles, including Field Service Manager, Area Leader, Director of Manufacturing, Focused Factory Manager, and Operations Manager, among other titles.
