NGA Recognizes Juneteenth

This week NGA recognizes Juneteenth, the day slavery was abolished in the United States. NGA joins many associations and companies in commemorating Black history, culture, contribution and to promote racial equality. NGA President and CEO Nicole Harris states, “Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)—the antithesis to discrimination in all forms—is at the forefront of that effort for many industry trade associations, including the National Glass Association (NGA).”

Cathie Saroka, president, Goldray Glass and 2020-21 NGA board chair recently shared these words in support of NGA’s DEI activities, “From both a human and an industry perspective, diversity, equity, and inclusion just makes sense. Unfortunately, sometimes this doesn’t happen naturally so I believe that we must be intentional about it—in our companies, in our Association, and in our industry. It is my responsibility and my pleasure to stand in support of what is right and what makes us all stronger.”

NGA has compiled additional resources to help companies address and end discrimination in the workplace—visit NGA’s diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace resource toolkit.
