Pella Corporation is shutting down its plant in Reidsville, North Carolina, located on Rockingham Drive off of Barnes Street and U.S. Highway 29, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification from the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
State officials said in the WARN notice that the closure means 133 people will lose their jobs. The WARN notice said the closure will take place on January 31, 2027.
A local news outlet reached out to Pella Corporation and a spokesperson for the company said the closure was because the plant was no longer needed.
"Pella Corporation has made the difficult decision to close its Reidsville, North Carolina operations, with production continuing through Dec. 3, 2026. Approximately 133 team members will be impacted and will receive transition support, including severance, benefits information and available resources," says the company representative. "This decision follows a review of manufacturing capacity and expected market demand across Pella's network. The review showed that we have more manufacturing capacity than needed and that growth is expected to be stronger in other parts of the country."
