Simonton Windows & Doors Awarded Good Housekeeping’s 2026 Home Reno Award

Cornerstone Building Brands announced that the Simonton 5500 Double Hung Windows have been named a winner in Good Housekeeping’s 2026 Home Reno Awards.

The Good Housekeeping Institute’s Home Improvement & Outdoor Lab awarded the 5500 Collection Double Hung Windows for its efficiency and protection against drafts and moisture. Beyond performance, the Simonton 5500 Double Hung Windows come in an array of colors and finishes, which now includes interior and exterior black and exterior bronze laminate.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition from Good Housekeeping, in addition to earning the Good Housekeeping Seal,” says Kate Land, Vice President of Product & Innovation at Cornerstone Building Brands. “It represents our commitment to combining energy performance, design flexibility, and craftsmanship that homeowners and pros can rely on.”

More about the awards and Simonton

Each year, engineers and product experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute, together with a team of outside experts, spend months evaluating products and services for home remodeling and maintenance. As part of the evaluation process, analysts send products into the homes of consumer testers to see how they perform in real-world conditions, while GH design pros weigh in on style and aesthetics. To determine the winners, judges focus on key attributes including quality, value, efficiency, sustainability, and overall design appeal.

The Simonton 5500 Double Hung Window was designed to deliver performance and appeal. The sashes tilt inward for easy cleaning, while the 3/4-inch insulating glass unit — featuring ProSolar Low-E Glass, Argon gas fill, and an Intercept spacer system — delivers thermal efficiency for comfort and energy savings.
