SyntaxFlow Releases Free Online Calculators for Window and Door Manufacturers

SyntaxFlow, the international line of tools from Madrid-based software company HU Ingenieros, has released a set of free browser-based calculators for window and door manufacturers and the professionals who specify their products.

The window U-value calculator determines the whole-window U-value, or Uw, from the frame, glazing and spacer using the simplified method in EN ISO 10077-1. It shows each step of the calculation so results can be checked by hand. A companion condensation calculator determines the temperature of the glass edge and frame and indicates whether condensation will form on the interior surface at a given room humidity. A daylight calculator determines a room’s daylight factor based on window and room dimensions, and a sash weight calculator determines the weight of a glazed sash for hardware selection.

The new calculators join existing glass tools for the same audience, which calculate glass weight, glass thickness under wind load according to EN 16612 and ASCE 7, and the center-of-pane U-value, or Ug, of insulating glass units according to EN 673. A public page at syntaxflow.io/about/how-we-check lists the published test cases used to verify each calculator.

The calculators run in a web browser, require no account and are available in English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Italian. Window manufacturers and dealers can also embed the calculators on their own websites at no cost through syntaxflow.io/embed.

HU Ingenieros has developed business software since 1976. Its enterprise resource planning software is used by more than 100 glass companies in Spain.
