Hardware specialist VBH has announced the addition of Cotswold's new Prestbury Stay to its product range.
Prestbury is a side-hung friction stay that combines Restricted, Egress, and Easy Clean functions in a single unit. The restrictor function is designed to eliminate the need for additional hardware in situations where restriction is required on an egress window, allowing a nominal maximum opening of 100mm depending on sash width and profile design.
When the restriction is released, the stay moves into Egress mode, allowing the sash to open fully to provide an exit route for occupants and access for emergency responders. The release tab is finished in green for visibility during an emergency and spans the full width of the track to reduce the risk of finger trapping during operation.
The Easy Clean function creates sufficient space between the frame or mullion and the sash to allow users to clean the sash's exterior from inside the building. The sash can be pulled closed from any position, and the mechanism automatically resets to its restricted position once closed, ahead of the window's next use.
