Veka Inc. will host a Manufacturing Day experience on Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. as part of Manufacturing Day, an annual celebration of the manufacturing industry organized by the National Association of Manufacturers.
With respect to social distancing and safety precautions, this year’s event will be held virtually. Students, educators, parents and community members can experience a step-by-step video tour through plant operations, following the extrusion product story from the moment the raw material arrives at Veka’s North American headquarters until the PVC profiles are ready to ship.
After the tour, current apprentices of Veka’s Dual Apprenticeship program, will be available for a Q&A session. Veka has the following apprenticeship programs registered with the U.S. Department of Labor: plastic extrusion process technician, electro mechanical technician, tool & die maker, CAD/CAM, sales engineer and intern or pre-apprenticeship.
