YKK AP Acquires German Manufacturer

YKK AP America Inc. announced that its parent company, YKK AP Inc., has acquired the German manufacturer Seufert-Niklaus GmbH. This move follows the establishment of YKK AP Europe GmbH, which was launched in April 2025 and is based in Dusseldorf, Germany.

About Seufert-Niklaus

Seufert-Niklaus, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of timber and aluminum-based architectural solutions, is known for its facades, windows and doors. Founded in 1891, the company is headquartered in Bastheim, Germany. Its approximately 200 employees provide design, production planning, manufacturing and maintenance for the company’s products in Germany and across Europe.

What YKK leadership says

“The acquisition of Seufert-Niklaus is a significant step in YKK AP’s global strategy, reinforcing our organization’s official entrance into the European market and expanding the company’s offerings to include timber facades, windows, and doors,” says Oliver Stepe, president and CEO of YKK AP America, Inc. “Seufert-Niklaus’s 120-year history in manufacturing represents an unwavering focus on quality and commitment to its employees, and to its customers. This partnership provides ample opportunity for YKK AP to learn from Seufert-Niklaus’s unique expertise and offers a potential pathway to introduce timber-based facade solutions to the North American market in the future.”
